Adventure Uganda Wildlife and Primate Safari
Day 1: Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Top of the falls
We depart at 08:00am with your guide driving you northwards. We have a stop over at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Masindi to view the Rhinos before proceeding to the Murchison falls. Upon arrival at the park, you will begin to encounter a variety of birds, monkeys, and baboons in the cool Budongo forest as you are guided along. An opportunity to enjoy the mighty falls views at the top before retiring for overnight at Paraa Lodge or Red Chilie Camp.
Day 2: Game Drive and a Boat cruise to the Bottom of the Falls
We embark on an early morning game drive at 07:00am enables you to see some of the large mammals that include; lion, leopard, elephant, hippopotamus, Rothschild’s giraffe, Cape buffalo, hartebeest, oribi, warthog, and Uganda kob. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the Launch at a sun downer to the bottom of the falls, a three hours launch trip enable you to see some animals that come to the banks of the River Nile to drink water, some come to sun bath as the Nile provides a corridor year-round water for these animals as well as a plethora of water birds (including the rare shoebill stork) .Dinner and Overnight at Paraa Lodge or Red Chilie Camp.
Day 3; Drive to Fort-portal via the Albertine Rift Valley( amazing views)
After breakfast, We depart for Fort-Portal via the Albertine Rift Valley , where we enjoying nice views of the Rift Valley escarpments and stop over for lunch in Hoima Town. We later proceed to Fort-Portal arriving late in the afternoon. Dinner and Overnight at Mountains of the Moon or Rwenzori View guest house.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest national park and Bird watching in Bigodi swamp
After early breakfast at 6.30am, we head to Kibale forest National Park headquarters for a briefing session with the guides before you enter into this beautiful forest for chimpanzee tracking where you also see other primates like the L’hoestes, Colobus, Blues, Red-tailed monkey and grey cheeked Mangabey swinging through the dense forest and several bird species. After lunch, take an opportunity to reach Bigodi wetland for a birding walk in the swamps . The area is run by the community as away to preserve and save animals in the Kibale forest. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon hotel in Fort portal Town or Primate lodge in Kibale Forest National park (luxury/Medium options)
Day 5 :View Toro king palace, Mt. Rwenzori ranges, Via Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi
After breakfast, we drive to bwindi forest national park, enroute we view the Toro King’s palace from a distance, the Mt. Rwenzori Ranges are also visible in the horizons. We may also have a chance to view wildlife as we drive through Queen Elizabeth National park. We arrive at Bwindi late evening. Dinner and Overnight at Mahogany Springs /Buhoma Community Bandas/Bwindi View Bandas
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking experience and Community walk
After breakfast amidst the beauty and freshness of the thick forest, we head to the park headquarters for the 8am briefing by the guides after which you will enter the dense forest to trek these endangered primates, the Mountain Gorilla. You are advised to carry strong boots, rain coat, camera, and a bottle of water. The hike usually takes anywhere between 2-6 hours. After lunch we take a village walk within the communities that live side by side with the gorillas as we acquaint ourselves
Day 7: Depart for Lake Mburo, Evening boat cruise.
We depart for Lake Mburo via Queen Elizabeth, with luck we may have a chance to view the Tree climbing lions, Elephants and other wild game as we drive through Queen Elizabeth, enroute we also view the Rift Valley and crater lakes. We take a lunch break stop over at the Igongo Cultural centre and Ankole Museum that holds significant history of Uganda and the Ankole people. On arrival in Mburo we take on an evening boat ride where we expect to encounter lots of birds, wildlife and even aquatic wildlife. Dinner and Overnight at Mantana Camp/Arcadia Cottages/Rwonyo Camp.
Day 8: Game Drive and Return to Kampala
After breakfast, we embark on a game drive in Lake Mburo in search for the Zebras, Elephants, Antelopes and more wildlife, more to these the views of the savannah plains of Tanzania are so amazing to see as well. We head out of the park and make a stopover at the Equator for photographic opportunities and purchasing some local crafts, we later also stop over at the local drum makers in Mpigi before arriving in Kampala late evening
